Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, subscribing to a membership tier, or using any part of the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and regulations.

If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

The Platform is intended for use by individuals aged 18 and older. Accounts are created by individual users, even if they complete assessments or manage information on behalf of an organization.

You represent that all information you provide during registration is true, accurate, and complete, and that you will maintain and promptly update your account information as needed.

3. Description of Services

The Platform is a guided readiness and learning platform designed to help users assess and improve their funding preparedness and access curated funding information.

Services may include:

• Funding readiness assessments
• Personalized reports and insights
• Access to a searchable grant database
• Learning materials and community engagement through the Impact Lab
• Additional tools and templates (for paid members)

Jedno may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice.

4. License to Use the Platform

Subject to these Terms, Jedno grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Platform solely for your internal, lawful purposes.

You may not:

• Reproduce, modify, or create derivative works from the Platform;
• Rent, lease, sell, sublicense, or transfer access to others;
• Use the Platform to compete with Jedno or offer commercial services based on its outputs;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation or security.

All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Jedno Inc.

5. Membership and Accounts

5.1. Account Creation

To access the Platform, users must create an account using a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login information and all activities under your account.

5.2. Account Types

Starter (Free): Limited access to introductory features and sample grants.

Navigator (Paid): Expanded access to readiness tools, learning resources, and the grants database.

Pro (Paid): Full access to all available features, strategic tools, and reports.

5.3. Individual Accounts

Accounts are currently for individual use only. Organizational or team accounts are not yet available.

5.4. Suspension or Termination

Jedno reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account if it believes you have violated these Terms, engaged in unauthorized activity, or misused the Platform.

6. Subscriptions, Payments, and Renewals

6.1. Billing and Currency

All fees are in Canadian dollars (CAD) and subject to applicable taxes.

6.2. Payment

Paid memberships are billed through our secure payment processor at the time of purchase. You authorize Jedno to charge your payment method for recurring subscription fees until you cancel.

6.3. Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel anytime through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle.

6.4. Refund Policy

All subscription payments are non-refundable once the billing period begins. If you cancel, you retain access to paid features until the end of your subscription period.

7. Use of the Platform

You agree to use the Platform only for lawful purposes and will not:

• Share your login credentials;
• Copy, reverse-engineer, or resell Platform content;
• Use bots or automated scraping tools;
• Upload malicious code; or
• Misrepresent your identity.

Jedno may restrict or terminate access if misuse is detected.

8. Service Availability and Maintenance

Jedno aims for reliable uptime but does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, and feature releases may occur without notice. Planned downtime will be minimized and, when possible, communicated in advance. Jedno is not responsible for outages due to factors beyond its control (e.g., internet failures or third-party issues).

9. Data Retention and Backup

Jedno retains user data while accounts remain active and for a limited archival period afterward. Regular backups are performed, but Jedno does not guarantee recovery of deleted or corrupted data. Users are responsible for exporting and backing up their own reports.

10. Third-Party Services and Integrations

The Platform may integrate with third-party services such as payment processors, analytics, or communication tools. Use of those services is governed by the providers' own terms and privacy policies. Jedno is not responsible for third-party content, functionality, or data practices.

11. Beta or Early Access Features

Jedno may offer new or experimental ("Beta") features. These are provided as is and may be changed or withdrawn without notice. Use of Beta features is voluntary and at your own risk.

12. Grant Database and External Content

The Platform provides access to funding opportunities and third-party links. Jedno does not control or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or current status of external content or funder websites. We curate listings for informational purposes only and do not guarantee funding success or eligibility outcomes. Always verify information directly with the funder before applying.

13. User Content and Feedback

By submitting feedback, suggestions, or other content ("Feedback"), you grant Jedno a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use and incorporate that Feedback to improve the Platform. Jedno will not publicly attribute Feedback without consent.

14. Intellectual Property

All content on The Funding Compass, including text, graphics, assessments, reports, software, and branding, is owned by Jedno Inc. or its licensors and protected under Canadian and international copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify any content without prior written permission.

15. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Jedno collects, stores, and uses your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which complies with PIPEDA. We use secure, encrypted systems to protect your data. By using the Platform, you consent to our data collection and processing practices as outlined in the Privacy Policy.

16. Data Ownership and Access

You retain ownership of the information you submit. Jedno may use anonymized, aggregated data for analytics and service improvement. You may request export or deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@jedno.ca.

17. API Access

If Jedno provides an API, you may use it only according to documentation and rate limits. Jedno may monitor or restrict API use to maintain security and performance.

18. Availability and Technical Issues

Jedno strives for uninterrupted access but cannot guarantee it. Temporary interruptions may occur due to maintenance or external factors. Jedno is not liable for any loss resulting from downtime or technical failures.

19. Force Majeure

Jedno is not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of nature, internet outages, government actions, labour disputes, or cyberattacks.

20. Limitation of Liability

The Platform and all content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Jedno does not guarantee specific outcomes or funding results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jedno and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Platform.

21. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jedno Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

22. Modifications to These Terms

Jedno may update or revise these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Ontario, Canada, and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Ottawa, Ontario.

24. Survival

Sections relating to intellectual property, data ownership, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law shall survive termination or expiration of these Terms.

25. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other referenced policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and Jedno Inc. and supersede all prior understandings regarding use of the Platform.
